Eric Bresie commented on NETBEANS-2842: --------------------------------------- Can anyone identify a a "legacy nbm" file for use in testing Pack200/Unpack200 compression which is removed in recent JDK? What test class in Netbeans codebase would this be normally tested in? I pulled a few versions from https://github.com/junichi11/netbeans-rainbow-braces/releases, pulled the latest apache common compress down, created a unit test in the ArchiveTest with the nbm as input and it seemed to run and pass without issue on the versions I pulled (1.0.0, 1.0.2, 1.1.3). Either my unit test is not right or the nbm attempting are generated in a different fashion which doesn't trigger the Pack200Exception as mentioned elsewhere. > Using of deprecated pack200 tool in nbm packaging > ------------------------------------------------- > > Key: NETBEANS-2842 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2842 > Project: NetBeans > Issue Type: Bug > Components: platform - Plugin Manager > Affects Versions: 11.3 > Reporter: Benjamin Graf > Priority: Critical > > Netbeans plugins are mostly compressed in size by the JDK internal pack200 > tool which is deprecated since JDK 11 ([https://openjdk.java.net/jeps/336]). > It should be thought about an alternative as it might get removed in next JDK > releases. -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.1#820001) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: commits-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: commits-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists
