[~trixpan] - To make sure that I understand your use case more clearly. You are 
indicating that rather than always writing to a file named "server" and then 
having that rotate to "server1", "server2", "server3", the logging platform 
would instead just write to "server1" and then write to "server2" and then 
write to "server3". In this case, the rotation happens by writing to a 
different file, rather than renaming the file being written to.

Is this description accurate?

If so, that is certainly something that I have considered personally. I think 
this use case should probably be solved by introducing a new "Rollover 
Strategy" property or something of that nature, so that it is easier to 
understand the behavior. Please correct me if I am wrong.
