## Summary ntpc_stop() sets NTP_STOP_REQUESTED and signals the daemon, but the daemon checked the state only at the top of its loop. The signal interrupts just the call blocked at that moment; the daemon then continued with the remaining samples, each waiting up to CONFIG_NETUTILS_NTPCLIENT_TIMEOUT_MS when the server does not answer, and slept the retry delay. ntpcstop took about 21 s on sim with an unreachable server.
