## Summary The help text of `CONFIG_FS_PERMISSION` said: "This option alone does not enforce runtime permission checks." That is no longer true. With the option, the VFS, tmpfs, littlefs (with `CONFIG_FS_LITTLEFS_ATTR_UPDATE`), named semaphores, message queues and shared memory objects check the mode bits and fail with `EACCES`. The new text names these checks and points to `Documentation/os/filesystem/file_permission.rst`, which already describes them. ## Impact Help text only. No code change. ## Testing `qemu-armv8a:knsh` with `CONFIG_SCHED_USER_IDENTITY`, `CONFIG_PSEUDOFS_ATTRIBUTES` and `CONFIG_FS_PERMISSION`: `make olddefconfig` passes with no Kconfig warning and keeps `CONFIG_FS_PERMISSION=y`. `tools/checkpatch.sh -c -u -m -g` passes. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
