@acassis Reproduced on a NUCLEO-H753ZI (master b9d1d6a834): `echo` of up to 14 characters (15 bytes with the newline) to a closed port emits nothing, 15 and more come out. The driver's `txempty` tested TXE (TX FIFO not full) instead of TC, so the last close turned the USART clock off with up to 16 bytes still in the FIFO.
