Dishara Wijewardana commented on OPENMEETINGS-549:
--------------------------------------------------

Hi Arkhipets ,
I am Dishara Wijewardana who is really interested in contributing to Apache
projects. I have successfully completed my last year GSoC (2012) in Apache
Velocity project and there I implemented a complete JSR 223 API support for
velocity.

I saw this project as kind of a different project from rest of Apache projects
and keen to contribute to this. So I would like to provide a good proposal for
this project idea which is "Recurrence events support in OpenMeetings
calendar". May I know the scope/the expectation of this project idea? Because
as I feel once this function is a FULLY complete end to end, it would give the
same look and feel as follows. Please add if I have missed anything.

1. Create a Repeating event
   > Click create new event button
   > There should be a check box to tick "Repeat" and there should be a
settings panel which provide attributes required to make a event repeat.
   > and Continue the existing event creation flows where this Repeat attribute
will incorporate in to the create new event request and finally click Save.

NOTE: The settings panel for he "repeat option" can be as follows (please add
any more if I am missing).
- It can be a interval (i.e event in every 45mins ),
- Or a number Y which says this event will ends after Y number of occurrences
(which should include the initial event also).
- For both above we can provide an attribute like Termination Date. No matter
what type of recurrence we have but this will end at X date.

2. At update event, we have to provide the functionality to allow a user to
update an already existing event and make it a recurrence event.

3. Consider users editing a event that is part of a repeated series.

4. Delete one event or all events (in a repeated series)

5. Same applies when responding to an event. Accept All or Accept one.
(Basically for both #4 and #5 we need a functionality like Apply to All, not
quite sure whether this is directly possible with the current OpenMeetings
calendar events architecture )
