Well
backup/restore was designed so you not loose anything (but you still can shoot
your own leg :((( )
In case you have fresh M4 nightly already you can
# create DB dump (just in case)
# create OM backup
# update OM without backup/restore
Most probably it will work
If not:
# drop DB
# create DB
# run {{./admin.sh -v -i -file your_backup --drop --skip-default-objects}}
