@ddcprg I would not maintain the counter within the `MessageBatch` though because that is an interface, and we have to change all the implementations for it. That is the reason why I suggest adding a return value to `processStreamEvents()` to pass back the processing state of the `MessageBatch` -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
