Review Comment:
   Call `putSchemaIfAbsent` here will retry once, but it will not record 
metrics `this.stats.recordPutLatency` or `this.stats.recordPutFailed`. Maybe we 
can add a new method `putSchemaWithRetryIfAbsent`, this new method only wraps 
the original method `putSchemaIfAbsent`
