I'm just wondering when would this condition be fulfilled.
`lastAckedPosition` is `lastAckedPosition =
cursor.getPersistentMarkDeletedPosition() != null
? cursor.getPersistentMarkDeletedPosition() :
cursor.getMarkDeletedPosition();` .
I haven't tried it yet, but to me, it seems that the logic in #25087 might
not be correct.
I'd suppose that maybeUpdateCursorBeforeTrimmingConsumedLedger would have to
be made asynchronous (return CompletableFuture<Void>) and the locations where
it is being called should be evaluated.
