Thanks for the detailed analysis. I'd like to work on this. I'll guard the `Long.MAX_VALUE` sentinel in `checkAndReviseMetrics()` so the timer log scan is skipped while the metrics revision still runs, and add regression tests for both the empty-wheel and valid-slot cases.
