### Reproduction On Windows, set `GOOS=linux` and run `rmqctl/scripts/build-windows.ps1`. The script advertises a native Windows build, but inherits cross-compilation settings and successfully writes a Linux binary named `rmqctl.exe`. With `-RunTests`, the foreign test binaries also cannot execute. Similarly, a stale `GOARCH` left over from cross-compilation can produce a binary for another CPU. The script currently only sets `CGO_ENABLED`. ### Expected / proposed scope Use the Go host OS/architecture for this explicitly native build script and its optional test run. Keep cross-compilation in the existing Makefile workflow. Add an executable PowerShell regression using an isolated tiny Go module, deliberately foreign GOOS/GOARCH values, and verification of the built executable/exit status. No changes to the repository's required Go version. Searched existing Windows build reports; the version-default fix is already present and is a different problem. AI assistance was used to inspect the script and draft this report. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
