The regression probe did not reproduce this on the repository's actual Jackson dependency. Completion, model listing, and streaming all preserve HTTP 503 for empty, whitespace-only, and JSON null bodies; all 32 tests passed before any production change. The current mapper returns a traversable node in these cases, so my initial null-return assumption was incorrect.
