Glen Mazza commented on ROL-707:
--------------------------------
Until this is implemented, external polling services available today like Poll
Daddy, which can be embedded in Roller, provide an effective solution for all
but the largest companies that might be reluctant to use external services for
their polls:
http://blog.polldaddy.com/2012/05/07/embedding-polls-on-your-website-with-javascript/.
Looks nice and professionally done. Attempting to duplicate third-party
widgets by maintaining separate Roller database tables for polls, as well as a
nice user interface for same, probably would not be worth the diversion of
limited Roller resources.

> A number of forum management solutions have the ability to publish polls.
> Roller should allow this function.
> An example is at http://www.rpgdungeon.net. I know that Wandoo's Smartgroups,
> Invision's Powerboards both support this. The latter (seems to )hold(s) each
> forum entry in a database, so each poll reply, whether supported by a comment
> or not ?is? held in the database. Obviously economy and speed can be
> enhanced by only holding the results.
