Glen Mazza closed ROL-607.
--------------------------

    Resolution: Not a Problem

I don't see the problem, just replace the favicon located in the top level of
the Roller WAR, or use the W3C-recommended tag in your template's HTML head
section:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/specialicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

As most Roller users today are single-user they should have access to both
methods above. For multi-blog instances, the second solution will work,
providing the blog admin allows template customizations. If the blog admin
doesn't allow template customization, the favicon should remain part of that
restriction.

> Provide user with access to "favicon" settings (blog and feed)

> Project: Apache Roller
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: Newsfeeds (RSS & Atom)
> Affects Versions: 1.0.0
> Environment: All favicon-enabled browsers and RSS readers

>
> Provide the blog author a way to customize his favicon shown in the following:
> - URL browser window (other than hand-adding <LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON"
> HREF="favicon.gif"> to the page
> - browser tabs (same as above)
> - whatever is used by bloglines.com (http://icons.bloglines.com/icons/) to
> prefix the blog name (to override the default javacup used on b.s.c or the
> JRoller default icon)
> Provide also a way to specify an RSS image summary, (i.e. <image
> rdf:resource="favicon.gif"> or equivalent).
> thanks!
