Yan Fang commented on SAMZA-414:
--------------------------------

Will putting the dump to $SAMZA_LOG_DIR impact the YARN log aggregation ? From
my understanding, YARN will aggregate all the files in the containers' log
directories and move them to the HDFS. In this situation, will the headDump be
moved to the HDFS as well? Or actually when the OOM happens, the log
aggregation will never be triggered?

> Enable HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError by default

> It would be nice if Samza's run-class.sh defaulted to use
> -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError. According to
> [this|http://stackoverflow.com/questions/542979/using-heapdumponoutofmemoryerror-parameter-for-heap-dump-for-jboss]
> post, it puts the heap dump in CWD by default, which should be fine.
