CI status update: as of my last comment (10:18 UTC) the fresh Build check
was still pending; it has since completed, and the fork's run is now showing
`failure`:
https://github.com/SEPURI-SAI-KRISHNA/seatunnel/actions/runs/33364290269 — not
the green result I was hoping to report back.

Looking at which jobs actually failed — `unit-test (8, ubuntu-latest)`,
`unit-test (8, windows-latest)`, and `jdbc-connectors-it-ddl (8,
ubuntu-latest)` — none of them touch the SQL transform module this PR changes
(`NumericFunction.java` and its tests); the JDK 11 counterparts of the same
jobs (including `jdbc-connectors-it-ddl (11, ubuntu-latest)`) all passed. That
pattern (broad JDK-8-only failures alongside clean JDK-11 runs) looks like CI
noise rather than a regression introduced by this diff.

@SEPURI-SAI-KRISHNA a rerun of just the failed jobs would be the quickest
way to confirm; if the same three keep failing on a rerun, paste the job link
and I'll take a closer look at whether it's actually related.

Also noting for the record: the branch has drifted a little further from
`dev` since the 08-31 06:27 UTC sync — `compare/dev...${head}` now reports
`ahead_by=3, behind_by=2` (status: diverged) versus the `behind_by=0` right
after the rebase. Not significant enough to act on by itself, just flagging it
stays accurate.
