Thanks @SEZ9! I've opened a PR following your suggestion: MySqlSchema now re-applies column nullability from the catalog table (database metadata) after parseSnapshotDdl. The composite case is affected too: with UNIQUE KEY (a, b), a NOT NULL and b nullable, Debezium marked both NOT NULL and b's NULLs were emitted as 0 (snapshot and binlog, verified on MySQL 8.0).
