Martin Desruisseaux commented on SIS-196:
-----------------------------------------

Feedback from a member of EPSG group:

{quote}
IOGP rebranded itself in November last year. The name _“International
Association of Oil and Gas Producers”_ is unchanged, but the abbreviation has
been updated and now is “IOGP”. From the v8.6.4 of 1st March 2015 release, all
new or updated records in the EPSG Dataset will carry this as the codespace,
but any unchanged records from before this date will retain their previous
codespace “OGP”. So both will be in use in the GML codespace. The “authority”
in URN strings remains only “EPSG”. The data source may now be any of “EPSG”,
“OGP” or “IOGP” depending on date of record creation. The name of the dataset
remains “EPSG” and since the company rebranding is referred to as _“IOGP’s EPSG
Geodetic Parameter Dataset”_.

> The OGP organization, which is the maintainer of EPSG database, is now known
> as IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers). We should rename
> at least in the source code.
> We need to deprecate the {{Citations.OGP}} constant. But maybe we should not
> provide a {{Citations.IOGP}} replacement, since experience suggests that
> there is confusion about whether we need to use {{Citations.OGP}} or
> {{Citations.EPSG}} in source code. Since Apache SIS refers to IOGP only in
> the context of EPSG database, we should probably not provide any replacement,
> and keep only the current {{Citations.EPSG}} constant. This would remove a
> source of confusion.
> Whether we should also rename "OGP" to "IOGP" in XML documents is still an
> open question. The http://epsg-registry.org site is still reporting "OGP" in
> their GML exports.
