Thanks, we will do. My proposal is to replace the {{DistanceUtils}} class and
{{DefaultEllipsoid.orthodromicDistance}} method by something else based on
Wikipedia article and GeographicLib. The API may share some similarity with
{{GeodeticCalculator}} (in particular for the part using ISO standards), but
the formulas under the hood would be the Wikipedia / GeographicLib ones.
For discussion about the use of
[GeographicLib|https://geographiclib.sourceforge.io/], I suggest to use the
SIS-386 thread.
