Bruno P. Kinoshita commented on SIS-509:
----------------------------------------

>Thanks for the replacement of source markdown files. I browsed a few pages and
>everything seem fine. Well done! I can send an email on the dev@... list if
>there is no other short-term tasks planed.

No other tasks planned for now. But once it's live, I think we can
 * run spell checker through it (found a few ones but postponed fixing these)
 * run a link checker
 * update the site-management page
 * work on accessibility (why-not? I can take a look at this later)
 * mobile/responsive view (reminds me that I need to take another look at the
geoapi site for that  too)

>*About pages generated in HTML:* (...) If we have to do 90% HTML + 10%
>Markdown, wouldn't it be simpler to do all in HTML for avoiding the complexity
>of mixing two languages?

I think so. I haven't looked at how the book is generated, but if it's
producing the final HTML version, and we are happy with this, we don't need to
change it :) I'd be keen to look if we can modernize it a bit, perhaps? Just
CSS styling. What do you think?

>*About developer guide:*

Happy to take a look at this one too later. At $work we use the default Python
tools to produce a user guide:
[https://cylc.github.io/documentation/#the-cylc-user-guide]

It produces HTML and PDF, and works well for our case. If Docbook is able to
produce the final developer guide, without any issues with dependencies, build,
and if it's easy for contributors, we can leave it as is too. But the same I
said above, if there's any UI/UX, styling improvements, I'd be happy to help.

Thanks Martin! Let me know when the tickets are created or resolved. I can test
the new-old site when it's live :D
