Add a direct negative-case test so future refactors of the lookup path keep loud failure semantics for replay rehydration. Discovered while exploring CheckpointSpec coverage of the Controller.loadFromCheckpoint path; the larger ControllerProcessor save/load round-trip gap is tracked separately in #4686.
