Head commit for run: 89e903b25d789b607590c43c013519fd619da6f1 / kary zheng <[email protected]> feat(contour-plot): say what it cannot contour instead of ending the run The operator handed its three columns to scipy exactly as they arrived, so three ordinary tables ended the run: an empty one, one with a blank in x or y, and one whose points all fall on a line. It had no render_error and no guard of any kind. It now drops the rows missing any of the three and answers an emptied table with an error page, the wording Bar Chart already uses. A blank in z is part of the same drop: it interpolates to an all-NaN grid, which draws an empty chart with nothing to say why. The degenerate point set is guarded by a rank test on the unique (x, y) pairs rather than by catching the QhullError, so a genuine failure inside griddata still surfaces as a failure. Points spanning a plane are exactly the ones Qhull can start from: three points not on a line are enough, and two never are.
