Closes: #8901 ### How was this PR tested? - Non-functional change (dead private method removal); no behavior changes, so no test added. - Confirm no call sites remain: run `rg -nw "updateLatestVersion"` and expect no hits after removal. ### Was this PR authored or co-authored using generative AI tooling?
