Markus Jung created TOMEE-4645:
----------------------------------

             Summary: Faces CDI implicit-object injection does not yield empty
Map under OpenWebBeans
                 Key: TOMEE-4645
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TOMEE-4645
             Project: TomEE
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Markus Jung

h2. Summary
{{@Inject}} with a Faces qualifier ({{@RequestCookieMap}}, {{@SessionMap}},
{{@ViewMap}}) returns a non-empty Map where an empty map is correct.

h2. Description
When a bean injects a Faces implicit object through {{@Inject}} with a
qualifier such as {{@RequestCookieMap}}, {{@SessionMap}}, or {{@ViewMap}}, the
rendered page shows a non-empty Map. The correct output, when no entries exist,
is {{{}}}.

Mojarra provides CDI producers for these implicit objects. Under OpenWebBeans,
these producers do not resolve to the empty map in the case tested. The result
is a Map with content the test does not expect.

This affects any Faces page or bean that injects these implicit objects and
checks their state when empty.

h2. Steps to reproduce / TCK reference
Run these TCK tests:
* {{Issue3729IT}}
* {{Issue3730IT}}
* {{Issue3731IT}}
* {{Spec1582RequestCookieMap2IT}}
* {{Spec1582ViewMap2IT}}

They fail on TomEE 11 and are excluded in
{{runner-standalone/exclusions/faces.txt}} in the apache/tomee-tck harness
repo. Remove them from that file once fixed and confirm they pass.
