Everything is possible.
I just don't see this as a generic functionality that can be used by *every*
application.
You need to know the specific use case - what is the current page and what
other page(s) should get the notifications, to be able to decide where to
broadcast the event.
I'll leave the ticket open for few days. Maybe someone else has a cleaner idea
how this can be made in generic and useful way.
