Wait. The errors you're seeing have nothing to do with this or HBASE-16749. You seem to be hitting an issue with connecting to repository.apache.org. The original issue was with hitting http://people.apache.org/~garyh/mvn. This seems to be a different issue. Could you please drill into what's happening?
