* The catch block in writeXml() can actually be removed without changing
behaviour, since the method already declares that it throws IOException, and
any RuntimeException is re-thrown. This would remove the FindBugs warning.
* The javadoc on the writeXml(Writer) method is incorrect since it refers to
OutputStream.
