yes, I did :)

so the two patches do differ, probably in one line, Thread.sleep(1000);

As I said, I ran ant test-core in a loop 100x and did not see the failure.  If 
someone does, though, I can do something more sophisticated in the test (like 
using another latch to make sure the leader has started before interrupting it 
and causing the BrokenBarrierException)
