That is very confusing, because 2.7.1+ and 2.8.0+ are different release trains.
Neither release is out yet, and any number of issues could cause 2.7.3 to come
out after 2.8.0. It also requires downstream folks to know about actual release
dates of maintenance releases to know if an issue they care about was fixed in
the new minor version they want to use. Consider, for example, someone on
Hadoop 2.6.z (or even 2.4.z) who is considering upgrading to 2.8.0. If some
issue fixed in "2.7.3" is important to them, they have to either go to git
history or look up release dates.
