Ok, thanks for clarifying. So I tested this on a machine with a single 
user-managed identity assigned, and it wasn't working until I specified the 
client ID and tenant ID. I didn't trace through what the code was doing, but 
maybe this is simply a requirement in the client that needs to be removed until 
we know whether or not we actually need those properties.
