[~ste...@apache.org] Sorry it may not be easy for us to collect logs because 
the issue doesn't always happen. We are still trying to find a way to trigger 
it reliably.  Also, to your question, we don't know whether the last stuck task 
will eventually finish successfully or fail because we don't have the patient 
and money to let it.

Regarding the bulk delete call failure, I do have a suggestion (learned from 
our AWS representative): when the bulk delete fails and throws the 
MultiObjectDeleteException, try to collect all the failed ones and delete them 
individually as a second chance. This pattern is really useful and has been 
working for us. I think S3aFileSystem should implement the same logic as a 
configurable option, in additional to the current behavior which is if one or 
some objects failed the delete, fail the whole multi objects delete.  That 
should make the deleteObjects() call much more resilient to the S3 intermittent 
delete issue.
