[~wanghongbing] adding extra option is meant in order not to break existing
behaviour.
Yeah I agree `updateRootDirectoryAttributes` is too verbose, wanted to make it
clear but ended up too long name.
Can you please suggest alternative easier and clear name? if not maybe we wait
for others suggestions.
