I'm not sure if there is a consensus on whether 3.4.3 should have full Java
25 support (though I think that would be great)
I can start working on the backport mid January (though I'd be delighted if
someone else did that).
Note that there are more than a dozen other Java related fixes have to be
backported, only a few of the Java 17+ patches have been backported to
branch-3.4.
