Thanks for the detailed review Chris!

comment#2 - Windows built-in utilities don't seem to handle mixed and 
forward-slash separated paths consistently. Some of the feedback to HADOOP-8953 
and HADOOP-8977 was to be more rigorous and just reject mixed paths, and this 
jira addresses that feedback.
comment#4 - I've left them as loops to make it easier to add new test cases, if 
we think of any.

Fixed the rest.
