I think we should write about this in our bylaws. But, Alpha release is a 
widely used term in software engineering. People do not usually deploy them in 
production or if they do, they generally understand the associated risk. Here

Well just superficial review of our protobuf stuff has shown many bugs that 
require incompatible changes. I continue to do the review that I was planning 
to do before declaring GA. I am sure to find more.
