Natural Language Processing (NLP) is notoriously a Hard Problem, due to the apparently non-deterministic rules in most languages.
Folks use nueral-nets, and other esoteric things to attempt to devine semantics of the words. And plurality is part of the semantics. Of course, you could just have a dictionary file, maybe, of plurals and singulars... But that'd be a pain-in-the-ass. ;) -bob (of absolutely no help) On Fri, 16 Nov 2001, Jason van Zyl wrote: > Hi, > > Anyone know of any? > > To differentiate between say: > > address > progress > hepatitis > > and > > tables > columns > lobbies > hobbies > > -- > > jvz. > > Jason van Zyl > > http://tambora.zenplex.org > http://jakarta.apache.org/turbine > http://jakarta.apache.org/velocity > http://jakarta.apache.org/alexandria > http://jakarta.apache.org/commons > > > > -- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
