Thanks for this Tim and sorry it took me so long to answer. There was some network break right after I got this mail...
I could play a bit and that sounds reasonable.
Not that the server there is very fast... svn blame took 3 minutes to answer but it's a very nice feature!

Paul,
Try this repository,
https://brahe.discursive.com/svn/commons-test/jakarta/commons/proper/ jelly/
The same process was used to generate this that was used to generate the structure of the ASF test repository exception this one has history. This was an export from two weeks ago.

Fine with that but I think it would be nice to have a test at history, at least for one project...

What you are looking at isn't a product of "svnadmin load", I performed the migration to a subversion repository, then I exported the current version of all files and added them to the ASF test repository. I did this to same time and minimize the timeget something into the test repository. Justin'srecommendation was ahttps://svn.apache.org/repos/test/jakarta/commons/proper/jelly/subset of the entire project without history.

Any reason this doesn't exist ?
svn co---------------------------------------------------------------------or this svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/test/jakarta/commons/current/jelly/
Jelly seems to be nowhere :-( ... for some reasons https://svn.apache.org/repos/test/jakarta/commons/ seems to contain only projects till "c"... (neither when browsed nor when checked out)
