the "commons" approach open to other languages in the future.
For the first step (taking commons off the sinking jakarta ship), I
would agree that we should add "Java". But it should be made clear
from the beginning, that if another "commons community" (let's say XML
commons) wants to join, we will be able to expand the charter.
