I think you missed the point that an OSGi bundle *is* a jar.
If you apply my patch and build XmlSchema, you'll see no changes and all
applications won't be affected.
The only difference is a few additional manifest entries that allow the jar to
be deployed in an OSGi container.
Also, note that the final file name is the exact same, so this is not a major
change.
