HttpClient loops endlessly while trying to retrieve status line

Maybe I am getting paranoid, but it still matters to me. I do not like the idea
of just ignoring exceptions altogether, or putting a error/warning message for
what is essentially a normal behaviour. 

Folks, do you think it is OK if we just ignored I/O exceptions in this
situation? Please let us know
