Folks,
I have updated the applications and news pages in the wake of
HttpClient's promotion to the Jakarta sub-project level.

Please have a closer look at the applications page. I have taken liberty
of reorganizing it somewhat, giving the open-source projects listed a
slightly better placement. Let me know if you all agree.
