I have a few property files listed under a XML configuration file.
These are loaded using DefaultConfigurationBuilder.
All my configuration properties are under a folder:
....config\props\prop.jar\com\test\config\props\common\
CLASSPATH is defined until: ...config\props

How do I use DefaultConfigurationBuilder to load properties from the
above location?

It's there in the 1.4 release:
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/configuration/apidocs/org/apache/commo
ns/configuration/CombinedConfiguration.html#setForceReloadCheck(boolean)

This error is caused by the definiiton of the XPathExpressionEngine. You
need to have Commons JXPath in your class path to use this engine. Have
a look at the dependencies page:
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/configuration/dependencies.html
