For information, there are currently 38 of such NRENs and counting, with 22 of them currently interconnected by these regional research networks. These RRENs are working with partners across Africa and elsewhere in their AfricaConnect3[1] to establish these national infrastructures which are key for development where they don't yet exist and interconnect them all. We certainly are not going to stand by and see the scant resources that are available ripped off.
