Actually - not quite true. The MAP updates; (or at least it should) the
HTML does not. Note that it is only regenerated 2 times an hour for the
shadows and clouds - once every 3 hours for committer locations and once a
day for the list of committer URLs.
Note that recently we also added:
http://wms.asemantics.com/asf/?styles=emotions&VERSION=1.1.0&layers=rawworld,rawday,comloc&width=600&height=300&request=getMap&format=png&bbox=-180,-90,180,90
which gives you a near real time cloudmask. And yes - you can see the
huricanes quite clearly - with a few of the commiter loc's awfully close !
