I think Confluence is a great product -- but at the Infrathon, Upayavira and Leo (and others) gave a lot of valid reasons for the ASF wiki to remain on Moin. They are doing 99.99% of the day to day ASF wiki work, so I defer to them.
Wiki Syntax is peculiar to any wiki and I predict there will always be a learning curve. There are pros & cons for all of them. ;-)
At this point -- I'd say the reality is that ASF will stick with MoinMoin. FYI -- Ted Husted is working on a Confluence-based wiki as an alternative option for ASF projects.
Cheers, Tim
