The GSM-Modules are closed and there is no chance (in near future) to get an completely documented module. Perhaps when there is no major use for GSM anymore... But there are few possibilities to control the GSM part from inside the Smartphone part. This means for example - to turn it on/off - _getting_ information about encryption between Phone and Base Station etc.
