I agree with you, obey the law.

But many people want privacy at all costs, even if they are obeying the law.

I know its a distorted idea and thought, but people want the ability to not be limited, and the ability to do something illegal :P

i wholeheartedly support this open platform that gives its users the control to turn -any- of its radios on or off at will (of the operator...).
