Hijacking a bit: On the topic of making the neo a usable phone (namely, overcoming the terrible battery life), I'm trying to figure out how to get a USB charger going I have a Zap R12 (branded by Noma since I got it in Canada) <http://www.zapworld.com/recharge-it-all> which is a Li-On battery attached to a USB port. What I can't tell is whether I can source 500mA from this without damaging it. I can't find any specs around that suggest I can, but I find a lot of end-consumers talking about it "charging slowly" (i.e. suggesting that it only gives 100mA, as I've observed). Does anybody know how I could test if it is safe to draw 500mA from this? I can always try and see if I smell burning--the charger was a gift, I am not especially attached to it--but it would be nice if I had an intelligent attack on this problem instead.
there's also Ladyada's MintyBoost <http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/> which seems like it might be designed to give 500mA, but I don't see any intelligent USB-compliant chip in there that the moko could ask "can you give me 500mA?" so I'm unsure. for the record, all thunder does is write "fast_cccv" or "closed" to /sys/devices/platform/s3c2410-i2c/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0008/chgmode depending on what mode you want, and wrap that up in a nice OM GUI. Any hope for a qtopia version?
