In X you just have to make a selection to copy the text most of the time, so if a toolkit/application let you select the text you might be able to copy it. With qwo there is a gesture to paste such text ; from region 4 to 6. It is based on a shortcut that in X, pressing Shift + Insert will paste the clipboard.
